The Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), which acts as the central global source for reference data for OTC derivatives, has launched the Unique Product Identifier User Acceptance Test Service (UAT) environment and related Client Onboarding Support Platform (COSP).
The Financial Stability Board has designated the DSB as the unique service provider for the Unique Product Identifier (UPI) System: the DSB is the sole issuer of UPI codes and operator of the UPI reference data library. The UPI Service UAT environment has been made available to support industry for readiness and implementation. There will be a nine month UAT period to allow future UPI users sufficient time to implement and test their UPI connectivity, data integration and workflows before the start of the first compliance date. The DSB is planning to launch the UPI Service into production on 16 October 2023, three months before the commencement of the first regulatory compliance date.

Kindly note that the mandatory requirement to use UPIs will be introduced in messages exchanged between participants and KDPW TR following implementation of EMIR REFIT (from April 29, 2024)
